On arrival, you will meet the staff and instructors. You and your spectators will be asked to sign on. You will then attend a short welcome talk from the instructors who will give you a short safety briefing.
You will be provided with a helmet and will then get in to the driving seat of the first of the two rally cars. You will be strapped in to the seat via a full safety harness with the help of a member of staff.
The instructor will introduce you to the key features and controls of the car and will talk you through what skills you will be taught out on the track. The bulk of the tuition is carried out in the car so you can get the most amount of time in the car. An intercom system is built in to the car to enable you to talk to the instructor as you drive.
Then, the moment you've been waiting for, driving the car on the track. The first lap will be used for you to familiarise yourself with the track. You will then have another 4 laps in this car of the 1 1/2 mile stage negotiating your way through cones and tyres at high speed. You will experience power slides and handbrake turns. After you have finished, the instructor will fill out a score sheet, rating your performance in the rally car.
You will then have a break before your session of 5 laps in the second car.
Once all the driving sessions are complete, you can be strapped in to the passenger seat while the instructor gets their own back! You will experience a white knuckle ride on a "hot lap" with the instructor driving at £35 per driver
If time allows, your spectators will have the opportunity to experience a high speed demonstration lap for £35 in one of our British Rally Championship Suzuki Swifts.
Also, if time permits, the rally school has a PRODRIVE Subaru Impreza, a group A rally car which is also available for a white knuckle ride. For £45, drivers and spectators can have this experience.
Once the hot rides have finished, you will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire to give us feedback on your driving experience. The instructors will then give you a short debriefing and will hand out your certificates and score sheets.
We also have the facility to record all of your exhilarating manoeuvres from your day; both when it goes right and when it goes wrong will all be recorded on two cameras in high definition and transferred onto a DVD sent to you to keep, on special at the moment for only £40 for all the cars you drive. Please see us at signing on to arrange this exiting oppertunity!
The half day rally experience runs on Tuesday's and Saturday's . We ask you to arrive 15 minutes before the start of your course and please phone the day before to confirm.
This activity is dependent upon appropriate weather conditions. If we do have to cancel your session(possibly at short notice), we will re-book you in for another convenient time & extend your voucher for as long as we deem appropriate.
